((Continued from the jungle thread 'Free at Last'. Yay!))
Zack and Emma smiled as they too started to see bits of the beach up ahead. It had been awhile since they'd been to a beach; they'd escaped from a small town in the middle of the jungle. But now they would be able to play in the water and maybe make some sand castles! Zack thought it would all just be great fun!
But there were also other people there, which made him worry a little bit. Last time he had been faced with strangers, they'd taken him away. "What if they don't like us?" he asked, looking up at Ana-Lucia as he held onto her hand.
Emma looked over at Zack. "Miss Ana says that they're okay, Zack. Don't worry," she told him, knowing that he was scared. She was a little apprehensive as well, but if Ana-Lucia said that these were good people, she'd believe her.

"Your sister's right," Ana replied, "These people are just like you and me. They were on the same plane and they survived the crash. There's nothing to worry about at all."
She took the children over to a tent where a small food supply was stored. Luckily Sawyer hadn't founf it yet. She delved in and pulled out two Apollo bars and handed them one each, "Here you go: Apollo bars," she gestured towards a log which was placed by the tent, "Wanna sit down and we'll talk?"

"Chocolate!" exclaimed Zack, forgetting his previous fears and happily taking the candy bar from Ana-Lucia.
Emma took hers as well. "Thank you!" she said with a big smile. She turned and gave Zack a look. Her brother quickly thanked Ana-Lucia since he had forgotten to a moment ago.
They started to unwrap the chocolate as they both sat down on the log indicated by Ana-Lucia. Zack took a bite out of the candy bar and smiled. "Mmm..." he mumbled happily.

Ana laughed, "You two are both very welcome. Kate will be back soon so we'll save one for her, okay?" she turned towards the beach as she sat down with them, "Well, this is the beach. Remember where we were before? There weren't very many of us were there. Turns out there were more survivors from the mid-section who survived too."
Ana remembered that day when the two groups collided. She also remembered shooting Shannon Rutherford and the guilt returned. Again, this had to be placed in the back of her memory. There were more important things to deal with now.

Emma listened as Ana explained about the other survivors. "So the plane broke into different parts?" she asked, taking another bite out of her candy bar. She glanced around at all the other people that were on the beach. She didn't recognize anyone from where they had crashed. What had happened to all of them?
At the mention of this, Zack got an idea. "Did you ask the other people if they have a boat?" It made sense to him. Miss Ana had said that she didn't have a boat. But what about all these other people? It was a possibility! There were all kinds of people here. Surely someone had to have a way of getting off the island.
((Kids are so determined! And cute! Poor Zack! He makes me sad... lol.))

{{awww. *sniffs* It makes it harder to break the news to him}} Ana frowned and looked down for a minute, "We're gonna be here for a little while longer," she simply said dropping the whole boat idea. "And yes, the plane broke in to 3 parts. The coc.kpit, the mid-section and of course, the best section, the tailie part!" ((Had to put coc.kpit because of word restrictions lol))

((lol. Understandable. 'Thingypit' just doesn't sound right. Heehee.))
Zack frowned slightly when Miss Ana said that they were going to be here for a while longer. It was silly for him to think that someone would have a boat. They didn't fit in someone's pockets, after all.
Emma looked over at her dejected brother. "Hey," she said, poking him in the ribs with her elbow. It was a ticklish spot of his and she was positive it would get him out of his slump. "Cheer up," she told him.
Sure enough, Zack smiled and squirmed away from his sister's elbow so that she couldn't tickle him anymore. He took another bite out of his candy bar and kept his eyes on Emma, waiting for her to try something again.
Emma smiled at her brother before turning back to Ana-Lucia. "So we were in the tail part, and all these people were in the other two?" she asked. The plane had been full of people and this definitely didn't look like everyone who had been on the plane.Where had the rest of them gone? Had they been taken away by those Other people, too?

Ana laughed at the pair's playful fighting. She shook her head at Emma's question, "Apparantly on the first night here a group went up to the coc.kpit. No survivors," she said sadly, "These people are just from the mid and tale section. We're all that's left," she admitted although she did not want to frighten these kids she tried to change the subject and began questioning them without Kate, "So..how many people were where you were?"

Zack munched on his chocolate bar as Miss Ana said that they were all that was left. So did the other people all... die? He didn't want to think about it, so he didn't.
Emma was the one who answered the question. "I didn't see that many," she said. "Mrs. Klugh took care of us and another boy that was there. We were in some kind of basement thing so there weren't a lot of people around," she explained.
"But sometimes Mr. Tom would come down and play games with us!" added Zack. "They were fun games, and sometimes Mrs. Klugh would play, too," he said with a nod.

"What kind of games were these?" Ana asked, "Imaginary games or board games or...?" she continued. She wondered what these Others had. Was it possible they had board games? They seemed to have buildings so why not games?

"They were weird games," said Emma. "They'd tell us to close our eyes and then tell them how many fingers they were holding up."
"But our eyes were closed so we always lost!" added Zack. "The other boy was good at those games. I think that Mrs. Klugh just wanted us to lose so she made us play games like that..." He didn't think the games had been very fair. How were they supposed to guess how many fingers were being held up if their eyes had been closed?

Ana nodded but was confused, "That does sound like a silly game," she said. Truthfully it was a ridiculous game. What were the Others plans exactly? To agitate little kids by making them lose games, "And this other boy? Did you speak to him?"

Zack shook his head. "Whenever we were playing games, we weren't allowed to talk to each other. It was against the rules," he said.
"We usually only saw the other boy when we played the games," added Emma.
"But he was really good at the games!" said Zack. "He almost always won the color game. I think he was cheating," he said with a nod.

What were these Other people trying to do? This made no sense.
"Colour Game?" asked Ana, "Now what did that involve?"

"It was a lot like that finger game we told you about," said Emma after finishing off the last bit of her candy bar. "There were these cards that had colors on it, we'd have to close our eyes and point to whatever color they asked for."
"But it's hard to find the blue card when you can't even see it!" said Zack, looking a bit upset about how the games had been run. "We don't have mind powers like the X-Men. I bet they could've done it," he said with an affirmative nod. The X-Men could do anything.
