Emma's heart sank when Miss Ana-Lucia said that they didn't have a boat. They wouldn't be going home any time soon.
Zack looked up at her with sad eyes. "But... but how're we gonna go home if there isn't a boat?" he asked her. He didn't really care about going to the beach and meeting new people. He wanted to go home and see his mommy! His eyes were starting to fill with tears as he clutched onto his teddy bear. Zack didn't want to be here any more. He was ready to go home.

Ana had to try and stop herself from bursting in to tears herself. She tried not to show emotion at all. But this was just heart breaking, "We're haven't found a way yet. But we will get off this island soon. And when that day comes you will see your mommy!" Not a lie exactly. Ana didn't know when they were going to get rescued or even if they were. But some people still had hope and Ana-Lucia decided these children deserved some of that hope. "Now... come to the beach," Ana said in her most friendly tone, "Please? We have Apollo bars!"

Zack gave a small nod at what Ana-Lucia said. She said they'd get off the island soon and that, when that happened, he'd get to see him mom. He could wait a little longer, he supposed.
At the mention of Apollo bars, both of the children looked at Ana-Lucia curiously. "What're those?" asked Emma. She'd never heard of an Apollo bar. Was it some sort of candy?

Ana managed a smile at Emma and Zack, "If you come to the beach, I can show you," If asking wouldn't get these children to the beach, candy might. Besides when they were there she could set them down, give them the candy bars and gently question them about their experience.

The two of them nodded. "Okay," said Zack with a sniff, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hand. Maybe things wouldn't be so bad after all. At least they had people who were being nice to them.
"How far is it to the beach?" asked Emma as she and her brother got to their feet, ready to follow Ana-Lucia back to their camp. She was tired and hoped it wasn't too far.

"Not far," Ana replied leading the way, "I was out here picking fruit so it should be close," she nodded to Kate, "I'll take them back and see you there. I'll wait for you to get back before I start questioning them," she said quietly to her, "Good luck."
She held out her hands for the kids to take, "Come on, let's go."

Zack and Emma each took one of Ana-Lucia's hands as they started to make their way to the beach. It really wasn't very far, which was always a good thing. Emma was just glad that they were going to be around people who seemed to care about them. The people they'd run away from pretended to care, but Emma had feelings that they were just using them for something.
It didn't matter anymore, though. They were away from all of that.
((Should we move this to the beach?))

(Yeah, you can start one of you like. I don't know what to call it )) Ana lead them to the beach. It felt strangely nice to hold these kid's hands. Maybe it was her motherly instinct returning. She pondered over whether it would have been like this if she hadn't of lost her baby...if she hadn't of been shot. She took a silent breath and tried to forget. That was over now. Now the present was important. These kids were important and she had to concentrate on them. "I think I see the beach ahead," she told the children as she spotted golden sands and people walking around in front.
